Two and a half years. That's how long it had been since I'd last been home to New Zealand.
I was driving to my best friend's wedding and made a stop at Lake Tekapo. The lupins were out, so naturally, I had to get the camera out too.
Stop and smell the roses. Or, in this case, the lupins.
I grew up in Christchurch, with places like this not all that far away. But looking back, I honestly think this trip was the first time I really appreciated just how beautiful New Zealand is.
It took moving to the other side of the world and coming back to see home with a fresh pair of eyes.
And I'm rather glad I took the time to stop.
